Richard E. Beard, the former executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum pleaded guilty this afternoon to stealing a $40 boxed set of DVDs from the Springfield Target. His plea came a day before his trial on the misdemeanor retail theft charge was scheduled to begin. What a jerk!
