I love Tosh.0 on Comedy Central! I meant to post this before the ipad came out! Did any of you readers get an ipad???????? I want one! (I want a lot of things though and just leave it at that--want, not need and not going in to debt for one)! Maybe one of these days, when I'm debt free and the price goes down and there is free wi-fi everywhere!

Hi there John!
Is that a real iPad? No way! No one in their right mind would destroy one of the most sought-after gadgets this decade! I don't think he really cares, though! Haha!
I'm intrigued by the iPad but I'm not sure if I want it!
Hi HalfCrazy! NOooooo that is not real--pure comedy. Daniel Tosh is a comedian on the channel "Comedy Central" (check out his videos on youTube for "Tosh.0". He is so hilarious, and he did this little skit a few months ago before the FCC even approved them (I think)!
About the ipad, I don't know why a PHONE wasn't included in it! Speaker phone of course LOL.
Greg wants an iPad too. He's been talking a lot about it. His bday is in June...
I'll eventually get something like the iPad. But right now, I don't have a big desire.
@Cubby, My birthday is in June too (the 8th--same as Joan Rivers LOL). Hmmm, maybe I will have to start dropping hints, I mean "talking about it!"
@Michael Rivers, I know what you mean, and the ipad is limited in many respects--flash video format does not work for one and many games use Flash. I would definitely want to play games on it!
It'll be interesting to hear reviews of it in the next few weeks and months after people get some real quality use out of it. I DO desire it (but I desire a lot of things, AHEM, just sayin' LOL)...but I don't rush in to anything, so I can wait.
John great post! We are thinking of getting Stan's mom an i-Pad. He thinks she may have an easier time with it than a computer(she is in her seventies and rarely uses any tech devices. I think we might also replace the laptop downstairs with an i-Pad when it goes, but it is doing fine right now, so no need to replace it.
@Kyle, thanks! Hey my Mom is a young 73 and I cannot imagine her using an ipad. You know it has that tiny touch keypad like on the iphone! But that's just MY Mom. She has trouble with her VCR, so go figure. The CNET reviews say though that it will NOT replace a pc ...not anytime soon! I'd say the little netbooks are a much better option for your Mother-in-law. Just my opinion though!
I have a silly question. Why are iPads so sought after? What are the advantages? I don't quite get it. Are they just sort of mini-laptops?
@Jo, I think they are just sought after by the people that are gadget collectors and think they must have every new thing and the latest and greatest, you know? I have a friend like that, who goes through cell phones like several times a year...while I have had mine for 3 1/2 years and plan on using it until it stops working!
But NO, they are not like a mini-laptop (that would be a NET BOOK). What they ARE is an over sized iphone without the phone feature or an oversized newest version of the ipod with some extra apps thrown in.
I enjoyed watching "Morning Joe" on MSNBC all week, he has been playing with one LOL. Strange too how many of the "apps" are iphone apps and are only the size of an iphone, yet on that big screen! That is NOT good.
So it comes with a bunch of "apps" and many more are available but everything must be bought from the apple store/itunes. Joe had an Apple expert on too and asked a bunch of questions...already there is an issue of the Wi-fi not working sometimes because of the thickness of the ipad!
They showed the "Bloomberg Financial app" as a good example of a good app, but unless you're in to investing, etc>>>BORING!
I would definitely wait for the next version of it. Hope that helps answer your question!
Really who has an extra $500.00 laying around to buy one? I don't. It looks cool though.
I played with an IPad at the Apple store this weekend. I couldn't type worth crap on the screen. Fortunately, I don't need an IPad or other tablet, so I'm not too disappointed.
John, where have you been? You okay?
