KFC tests new sandwich with 'bun' of fried chicken :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Food
Shared via AddThis
Is it a chicken bun or a bun chicken? Whatever! It comes with two slices of bacon, Pepperjack and Swiss cheese and the Colonel's "secret sauce" between two filets of KFC breaded chicken. Sorry to be such a tease, since this sandwich is only being test-marketed in Rhode Island and Nebraska right now. I wonder how much saturated fat and cholesterol it contains? Would you try it?

Here's another article about the new sandwich, and it includes a video of the tv commercial.

Ick.
I agree with Dr. Monkey.
john,
i would git in my pick up and dust would fly, that there look like one tasty, with beer . snack to me.
yeah buddy, finger..............................
.............good, too
I am not a huge chicken fan, so I think it looks quite nasty. But that is my opinion. And I am sticking with it.
I am a 25+ year vegetarian, co to me it is really- YIKES, yet strangely compelling.
After reading that article about the chicken sandwich, or whatever it is, the first thing I thought of was those sketches on Saturday Night Live with Chris Farley and da Bears Superfans where the guy pounds on his chest to keep his heart going.
KFC or what used to be called Kentucky Fried Chicken has not been the same for years... this new product looks like it has a lot of fat, calories, etc. I'll take a pass John, but thanks for the info. on the "Colonel's secret recipe" being updated yet again.
I have not been inside a Colonel Sanders establishment for about ten years. I am fond of chicken but I want it to be prepared in a healthy manner. This chicken sandwich (so to speak) really turns me off.
@Dr. Monkey, Ick! That about sums it up!
@Larry Ohio, Enough said!
@therealbobthought, after a few beers maybe...but then you might get sick!
@Allen, that 'secret sauce' especially looks nasty. And why so secretive about it! Somebody today said is is probably white gravy, but I doubt it or they would call it gravy...wouldn't they?
@Stephen, good for you! I know you wouldn't touch that with a 25' fork!
@Mary Ellen, I thought of the same thing! Plus I thought, why not wrap the whole thing in pizza dough and deep fry it! SNL had recent sketches like that!
@Jim, I agree KFC has really undergone some bizzare changes over the years. Changing their name from Kentucky Fried Chicken to KFC and BACK to Kentucky Fried Chicken, and now BACK to KFC because of the "Kentucky Grilled Chicken."
And a few years ago I would eat fast food a lot and they would have "popcorn chicken" for like three months, then it would go off the menu for about three months, then back on...that really made me wonder where they were getting those little pieces of chicken!
@Maria, Same here! KFC chickens are raised in crowded cages and never see the light of day. We raise free range chickens and there is a big difference in both the chicken and the eggs!
My first thought was - GROSS! then the OCD kicked in and I became worried about how to handle a sandwich like that in two hands?!?! It would definitely be a knife and fork meal - high in everything BAD for us!
@themom, can you imagine if you had that for lunch and took a bite and it falls apart all over your shirt LOL! I think you're right--use a knife and fork. That would be a lot safer.
You're right too about it being high in everything bad for you! I read that it has over 1,200 calories too.
