You Get What You Pay For

In my quaint little town every week there is a free newspaper delivered to everyone with an address. I went to pick up my mail from my post office box tonight and this free publication was overflowing in the trash cans inside the lobby. It's been this way every week that it comes out. I feel sorry for the advertisers. No, I don't really.

I take the copies of the free paper we get and I throw them at the office where it's published.

Ok, you hit on a real pet peeve for me. Our local newspaper does this all the time, they pick a week here and there and deliver their paper to every household. That's all well and good if you want the damn thing, but they have done this on weeks when I was away on vacation, and took the time to stop deliveries of my regular newspaper and mail so it doesn't look like no one is home, with newspapers piled on my driveway. So what do I come home to? .... NEWSPAPERS PILED AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY!

I have called them to complain and told them to stop doing it, but they do it anyway. I swear, if my house is broken into when this happens, I will sue them to kingdom come!

Dr. Monkey, that's hilarious! And a good idea...no wonder the paper is so vague about who publishes it!

And we already have a great daily newspaper! Actually they claim to be oldest continuously published newspaper in Illinois.

So I don't know why this new little weekly paper came out recently. I know I don't want to stand in line to pick up my mail, because junk like this is taking up my box space!

Mary Ellen, I think our daily paper does that too! I'm glad I don't live in town! And I would be so mad, if I came home from vacation with a big pile of newspapers!
