It's Independence Day in America

Here in the United States, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States. (Wikipedia)

It is raining in my part of the country, so most of the various festivities, will be cancelled here. Now is a good opportunity for me to show some photos that I took last summer at the Bellagio Conservatory in Las Vegas. The Conservatory was elaborately decorated in a patriotic theme. I took many photos, but it was rather dark at the time--after midnight (and after a few too many drinks). So here's my three favorites.

This photo (above) shows a view of the entrance.

This photo (above) shows two animated Bald Eagle "eaglets" chicks in a nest. The eaglets are illuminated and centered in the first photograph.

The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a bird of prey found in North America that is most recognizable as the national bird and symbol of the United States of America. (Wikipedia)

This photo shows a reproduction of Mt. Rushmore. If you ever go to Las Vegas, be sure and visit the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Treat yourself to this free unrivaled attraction's ever changing personality for the Holidays, Chinese New Year, spring, summer, and fall.

Vegas is so spectacular no matter when you go. It's like the 4th everyday with the lights and activity. There is no other city like it. The Bellagio is beautiful with the fountains outside. These are great photos of the conservatory.

@Rae, I agree, and I love Las Vegas and all its tackiness! I have tons of pictures from that trip, including the fountains at night. It's a shame you can't hardly win money there like you used to be able to do!
